In modern poultry farming, it is essential to support birds’ gut function, decrease pathogen pressure and improve feed efficiency. Some selected spore-forming bacteria probiotics boost resistance to the demands of today’s production processes, while also delivering proven gut health benefits after germination. However, with the average transition time in the poultry gut being only 4 to 6 hours. The key question is how to achieve maximum impact from spore-forming bacteria probiotics in the poultry gut during such a short transition time.
Microsaf®, the new generation probiotic, powered by patented GO Technology®, is a unique association of Bacillus species, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus pumilus, carefully selected to deliver improvements in feed efficiency, gut function, and microbiota, and overall growth performance in birds.
The performance of Microsaf® is enhanced by the exclusive 3-patent Germination Optimisation Technology, a new process designed to promote faster and stronger Bacillus spore germination. This maximises the impact of Microsaf® within the short transit time of 4-6 hours, which applies to most chickens.
Bacillus amyloliquefaciens has been screened for its high capacity in the production of enzymes such as Protease, Amylase and Lipase. Adding Microsaf® to a bird’s diet can achieve improved feed intake, feed efficiency and growth.
Under a Clostridium perfringens challenge, supplementing the diet with Microsaf® helps the birds to achieve higher levels of feed intake, improved FCR, higher daily growth rates and a better all-round growth performance.
Microsaf® is the association of 3 Bacillus species selected through a battery of screening tests from a library of proprietary strains.
Microsaf® is a spore-forming bacteria probiotic with a high resistance to feed processes, such as high temperatures during pelleting or the heat treatment of mash feed.
Microsaf® is available in two different concentrations:
By priming the germination process with combined germinant factors for faster activation, GO Technology® can accelerate and synchronise Bacillus spore germination, mitigating the impact of challenging conditions such as acidic pH and the presence of bile salts.
Bacillus spores has shown that GO Technology® innovation successfully accelerated and synchronised the germination of the 3 Microsaf® strains. This enabled primed Bacillus licheniformis spores to reach 90% germination in just 45 minutes, a level reached by only 10% of the spores in the control group.
The 3 Bacillus strains are chosen for their complementary mode of action. Microsaf® combines Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, which is the best performing strain for producing enzymes; Bacillus licheniformis, which is the best performing strain for producing lactic acid, and Bacillus pumilus, which is the best performing strain for phagocytosis activation. All 3 strains have a strong ability to inhibit major poultry pathogens, such as Clostridium perfringens, Escherichia coli (E. coli), Salmonella, Campylobacter jejuni and Staphylococcus aureus.
