Ceci a des cons\u00e9quences importantes en mati\u00e8re d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, de rendements laitiers, d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 reproductive et d\u2019incidence des maladies.<\/p>\n

La combinaison de la temp\u00e9rature ambiante et de l\u2019humidit\u00e9 (THI) d\u00e9termine le niveau de stress thermique.<\/p>\n

Les animaux subissant un stress thermique r\u00e9duisent leur ingestion alimentaire. Ceci est vraisemblablement une strat\u00e9gie de survie, en particulier chez les ruminants, puisque dig\u00e9rer et assimiler les nutriments g\u00e9n\u00e8rent de la chaleur (ce qu\u2019on appelle les effets thermiques de l\u2019alimentation).
